We gave it a valiant try, towards the end return hikers said "your almost there!", "only another 30 minutes" and my favorite "around the C turn and straight ahead" Well they might as well have said "go over the river and past the mountain that burns" because about that time the rain came came down and Szymanski's went home.
But if it was only that easy, the dadoo's puppies still ache from the pounding of the boulders and rocks along a poor excuse for a trail. We did return safely, bruised but still eager to continue our hiking experiences!

How disappointing that you didn't make it to your destination. You'll have to head back next week!
I like the picture you posted of the lake. I had no idea that's what we missed seeing. Rats! We were so close. I said that I never wanted to go on that trail again. It was sooo hard. But if that's what's at the end of it, I may be willing to try again next Spring, when the weather is more trustworthy.
